A spokesperson for the Irish Medical Organisation said:  "The NCHD Committee of the Irish Medical Organisation will meet on Thursday, 18th June, to consider the Recommendation of the Labour Court in respect of the implementation of the European Working Time Directive as it applies to Non Consultant Hospital Doctors.  The recommendation will be considered having regard to issues surrounding patient safety, training for NCHDs and health and safety matters.  No further statement will be issued until after the NCHD Committee meeting.”
